Elaine Crooks – 2020 Honored Citizen

Elaine has lived in Solebury since 1969. During her time here she has been an integral part of the community with her involvements in so many different organizations and committees.

*1980-1988 – Solebury Township Historical Society Board member where she assisted with the recognition of Solebury’s historical districts designations.

*2002-2017 – Pres, VP of Solebury Township Historical Society.  She assisted with gaining ownership of the one room schoolhouse along with many other initiatives and programs.

*Acting Executive Director and chaired multiple committees including the annual Barn Tour for Bucks County Audubon Society.

*Bucks County Conservation District, worked on the Lake Nockamixon conservation plan.

*Secretary/Treasurer of the Bucks County Farm Bureau.

*Board member, Officer of Friends of the Delaware Canal.

*President/Board member of Neighbors for Bucks County Preservation.  Focus was preventing the 202 highway from encroaching on Solebury/Buckingham townships.

*Has been a member of Trinity choir for 30 years.

*For the township she has served on LPC Education Committee and aided in developing marketing campaigns for three open space referenda.

Her involvement is a total commitment to local community initiatives and non-profit needs.
