The Stony Hill School was built in 1847 by the Solebury Township School District on land located on Stoney Hill Road and sold to the District by Benjamin and Elizabeth Paiste—yes, the spelling has changed over the years. This school was also sometimes called Chestnut Grove, but this is a source of confusion with the school on Aquetong Road at Greenhill Road.
