Bill MacDowell is a long time resident of the township and has devoted much of his time to environmental issues. A retired CEO of Burpee Seeds, Bill has given freely of his time and talents to a number of local non-profit organizations. He has been a trustee of Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve, founding member of the Pidcock Creek Watershed Association, and a board member for the Bucks Beautiful Garden Fair. He served on the board of the Bucks County Audubon Society and of the Neighbors for Bucks County Preservation, which successfully stopped construction of a four-lane expressway through the Central Bucks area. In addition he has found creative ways to help preserve land in Solebury Township.
