Marne Dietterich – 2010 Honored Citizen

STHS_Dietterich_MarneMarne Dietterich is the founder and motivating force behind Wrapping Presence, an organization she started in memory of her parents. To help residence-bound citizens to give with joy and dignity at holiday time, Marne and some 400 volunteers provide, wrap, and distribute Christmas gifts for the residents of nursing homes to give to their loved ones. In 2007 alone they wrapped more than 4,800 holiday gifts for the loved ones of 950 residents living in 16 Delaware Valley nursing homes, and every year the number grows.

Wherever there is a volunteer need, you can count on Marne. She has volunteered her time and talents to the Historical Society by helping out at events and with mailings. She volunteers at Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve and the County Theater, and she has been active with the Riverside Symphonia. On Election Day you will find her at the long table in the township building signing in voters. She has also worked on the crew of the 3-day walk for breast cancer.

Marne is a Solebury treasure!
