The Blackfan farm is located on Meetinghouse Road. John Blackfan was the grandson of Isaiah Quinby, disciplined by Buckingham Meeting for owning a slave. The grandson was a staunch abolitionist who was active in the Underground Railroad. He took in many fugitives to live on his farm, including children. The 1850 US census lists a 22 year-old Black man living with Blackfan. Samuel Scott was taken to the Blackfan farm and was given his name by John. Samuel lived and worked on the Blackfan farm for many years.
